It’s Time for Kitten Season’s Food Drive 2024

Chicago

Chicago

Beautiful Chicago was rescued by DREAM Animal Rescue from the East Valley Shelter in Los Angeles.  She had been dumped there with an enlarged abdomen.  It was determined she had a large mass on her spleen and her body was filling with fluid.  She would die without treatment.  After consulting with our emergency veterinarian, it was determined that the only way to save her life was to remove the spleen.  there were concerns that the mass could be cancer and her life expectancy would be cut short.  During the surgery it was discovered that some of the lymph nodes were also not looking normal so they were removed as well.  Her surgery and recovery all went as expected and she is doing great.  About a week later we received the results on the biopsies, the mas on the spleen was cancer.  However the lymph nodes were clear.  It is determined that she has mast cell lymphoma.  This is a slower growing cancer and there’s not much treatment that can be done.  We don’t know what her future hods or how long she will live.  Looking at the cases similar to hers, life expectancy has been anywhere from 1 to 5 years.  We are hoping its the latter.  We would love to find her a forever home where she can live out her years in happiness and comfort.  She has made a full recovery from surgery and is playing and acting like a kitten so we are hoping this is a good sign. Please help us in covering the costs for here surgery as they exceeded $4,600.

Roseanna

Roseanna

Female

Rosie is an adorable tabby with the cutest little tufts of fur on the tips of her ears like a lynx. She is a very sweet and adventurous girl with a big personality. She took a few days to warm up in her foster home, but once she did she really showed her true colors. She is so talkative and loves to meow and talk to you – especially when she is hungry or getting pets! She loves to play with all kinds of toys, but right now her favorites are toy mice and crinkle balls. One of her favorite things to do is sit and look out the window; she loves to watch for birds and people as they walk by. She is currently in a foster home with two other cats, a dog and two rabbits, and she is adjusting quite well to all of the other animals. There are also two young children in her foster home and she does great around them – one of her favorite places to lay one of the kid’s beds.
