Get to know Cirri

Cirri is a beautiful Siamese with a gentle soul and a little extra medical baggage that makes her truly special. She has lumbosacral spondylosis, a condition where extra bone has formed between her last lumbar vertebra and her sacrum. Cirri will be your constant companion and shadow, she never leaves her foster Mom’s side, lays at her feet while working, sits on her lap or right beside me while sitting, stands vigil at the bathroom door until she is done and sleeps at her feet every night. She loves to cuddle, be pet and doted upon; although, you must be delicate while picking her up and carrying her, she is allowable as long as she is not in pain.

Cirri may experience periods of sensitivity (hyperesthesia) & pain which untreated caused her to sometimes go outside the litter box.

With her new diagnosis, Cirri’s veterinary team has implemented a supportive care plan, and she is already showing positive progress, including consistent litter box use.

Special Care Needs

Pain management: Cirri receives gabapentin twice daily, mixed into her wet food, to help manage chronic pain related to her spinal condition. She eats it well when given this way.
Litter box setup: Due to pain and sensitivity, Cirri does best with a litter box lined with puppy pads, which encourages her to use a softer surface that’s more comfortable for her.
Easy-to-clean location: Her foster has found success placing the litter box in the bathtub, making clean-up easier and helping manage accidents while keeping Cirri comfortable.

Cirri thrives in a calm, predictable environment and would be happiest in a quiet home with someone who understands her needs and is willing to continue her care routine. Her care needs are manageable and become second nature with consistency and understanding. Despite her medical challenges, Cirri is a sweet, loving Siamese who deserves compassion, patience, and a safe place to call home.
